About Awaken Hope

Awaken Hope is a volunteer driven not-for-profit ministry based in Wilmington, Delaware.  We seek to partner with local organizations and churches such as Brandywine Valley Baptist Church, The Journey, AIDS Delaware and The Ministry of Caring.

We envision a future where every generation is empowered to serve people infected and affected by HIV and AIDS in our communities and around the world.

We will realize this vision through practical methods of education, prayer, service and community involvement.

We believe God's love and hope are the antidotes to HIV and AIDS.

Gabrielle A. Townsend, Founder & Director

Gabrielle A. Townsend is an accomplished project leader with over twelve years experience delivering high quality strategic plans, optimized processes, and dynamic systems. With a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University, Gabrielle has utilized her organizational skills in the role of public speaker, trainer, facilitator and project manager.

Ms. Townsend is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and includes strategic planning, technology implementations and staff development in her areas of expertise. Gabrielle currently oversees implementation of legal systems for a local corporation.  She has had a passion for serving people living with HIV & AIDS since 2005 and is striving to partner with local organizations to make Delaware a healthier place to live.  Ms. Townsend lives in Newark, Delaware, with her husband and son.
